Bristol's dog-friendly network stretches further than you might expect. The list here covers central Bristol and a scatter of villages and towns nearby: Yatton, Portishead, Congresbury, Lower Langford, Portbury. Pubs outnumber cafes, and most welcome dogs inside without fuss. A few offer treats and water bowls; one cafe keeps puppuccinos on hand. Coverage is growing, so this is not a complete picture.

Cafes

The Crafty Egg on Stokes Croft welcomes dogs and opens early, from 8am weekdays and 8.30am weekends until 3pm. It has a 4.5 paw rating and a reputation for being quietly reliable.

Strawberry Line Cafe sits inside Yatton Railway Station and offers puppuccinos alongside your coffee. Open 8am to 4pm on weekdays, 9am to 4pm weekends. One member said it is good for cafe dogs.

Mud Dock Café at The Grove in central Bristol is another confirmed dog-friendly spot, open 9am to 5pm most days and until 10pm Thursday to Saturday.

Pubs

The Railway in Yatton welcomes dogs and keeps standard pub hours, noon to late on weekdays, earlier at weekends. A solid 4.2 paw rating.

Royal Inn on Portishead's Pier Road welcomes dogs on lead throughout, with treats and water available, though the manager's discretion applies. Open from 7am most days, 8am weekends.

The Langford Inn in Lower Langford is a rural pub with a confirmed dog-friendly policy, open from 7.30am or 8am depending on the day.

Star in Congresbury welcomes dogs and has on-site parking, useful if you are driving out from Bristol. Open 11am to late.

Priory Hotel Portbury has staff who welcome dogs indoors and offer treats, though the formal policy is unconfirmed. Open 11am daily, with a strong 4.4 paw rating.

The Ostrich in Redcliffe, central Bristol, welcomes dogs from noon. No specific amenities are recorded, but the policy is confirmed.

The Windmill Inn in Portishead has a reputation for genuine warmth, offering treats and water to dogs who enjoy pub visits. Open 10am daily, another 4.4 paw rating.

Albion on Bristol Road in Portishead welcomes dogs and has on-site parking. Open from noon most days, 11.30am Friday and Saturday.

Restaurant

Impero Lounge on Portishead High Street welcomes dogs inside, though the focus is on dining rather than dog comfort. Open 8am to 10pm or 11pm depending on the day. Best for well-behaved dogs.

What to know before you go

Most of these venues are outside the very centre of Bristol. Portishead accounts for four entries, Yatton two. If you are staying in the city proper, The Crafty Egg, Mud Dock and The Ostrich are your closest options.

Dog policies are confirmed from venue websites where stated. Where a policy is listed as unknown, it means the information has not been verified, not that dogs are unwelcome.

Opening hours are consistent, but some pubs open earlier at weekends for breakfast. Check before you travel if early morning or late evening matters.

Most venues do not list specific dog amenities. Treats and water bowls appear at Royal Inn, Priory Hotel Portbury and The Windmill Inn. Everywhere else, expect a welcome but not necessarily a fuss.

Bristol's coverage is still building. If your regular spot is missing, it may simply not have been added yet.
