If your dog struggles with fireworks, the useful thing to know is when the bangs are coming and where from. This list covers 32 public displays in cities and towns across the East Midlands (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire and Northamptonshire), from Friday 30 October to Sunday 8 November, with the time the fireworks are due to start.
Friday 6 November is the busiest night, with 9 of the displays below. Private fireworks in gardens tend to follow the same pattern, so expect most noise on the weekends either side of 5 November and on the night itself.
Towns in this guide: Bakewell, Baston, Bingham, Calverton, Cleethorpes, Derby, Grimsby, Hinckley, Kettering, Kirkby Mallory, Leicester, Lincoln, Loughborough, Mansfield, Market Harborough, Matlock Bath, Navenby, Newark, Northampton, Nottingham, Oadby, Pinchbeck, Quorn, Ruddington, Southwell, Stoney Stanton, Stoughton, Tallington, Thoresby Park, Walesby, Worksop.
Most of these events do not allow dogs, and we would not take one even where they do. The list is here so you can plan around them: walk earlier, close up the house before the start time, and pick a route that stays well away from the venue.

Planning the evening
Walk your dog in daylight on display nights and keep the lead on, even if their recall is usually good. Shut windows, curtains and cat flaps before the first start time on the list, and have the TV or radio on to soften the noise. Our guide to fireworks and dogs has the rest, including when to speak to your vet.
If your usual walk passes one of these venues, the BarkFind map shows parks, woods and beaches near you to try instead that evening.
How we put this together
Every display in the main list was checked against the organiser's, council's or venue's own page on 20 October 2026. Times change with the weather and some displays move to a back-up night, so check the organiser's page on the day. If we have missed a display or something has changed, email info@barkfind.com and we will update the list.
